We recently shared that Readly is joining Cafeyn, a company that shares our commitment to high-quality editorial content and thoughtful reading experiences. This step allows us to continue developing Readly while investing in an enhanced product experience for you.
Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions in relation to Readly joining Cafeyn, and what that means for you as a customer.
The new Readly experience
Will Readly not exist anymore? What will happen with my account and magazines?
Readly will continue to exist under ownership of Cafeyn. When the new Readly app is available, your Readly account will move with you, and your personal settings and preferences will be retained.*
Your account settings for favourites, languages and categories will be transferred automatically. Any content saved locally on the current app however, such as crosswords or downloaded magazines, cannot be transferred.
*Only applicable for accounts with an active subscription on time of transfer on 31 March 2026.
I received information about a transfer in May - will my account settings be transferred?
No, for accounts without an active subscription, only your email address and specified country will be shared with Cafeyn. If you want to sign up for a new subscription in the future, you are welcome to create a new account.
Will crosswords still be available?
Yes, you will have the possibility to solve both crosswords and puzzles in the new app! However, if you have ongoing or saved crosswords in your current Readly app, these will not be transferred.
Instead, you will get access to an interactive Games section in the new app where you can solve crosswords, sudokus and daily puzzles.
Will bookmarks be available in the new app?
Yes! In addition to your creating bookmarks, you will also have the possibility to save articles and download content in the new app.
When will the new app be available?
The initial data transfer is planned to take place on 31 March 2026, and we aim to make the new app experience available to you soon after this. We will keep you informed of all updates.
Will the new app work on my device?
The new Readly app will be available for iPhones and iPads running on iOS 15.0 or later, as well as for Andrior tablets or smartphones using Android 8 (SDK 26) or later.
Will there still be an option to read in the browser?
Yes, a web version of Readly will be available and you can continue to access magazines and newspapers using a computer.

Payments via card, PayPal or Klarna
If you are paying directly with Readly, your payment will be automatically transferred and remain securely stored when your account is moved, and you do not need to make any changes.
For Paypal users, the payment will be processed by Cafeyn Group instead of Readly AB, but no action is required from you.
Payments via app providers Apple, Google or Amazon
If you are paying with an app provider, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay or Amazon Pay, your subscription will be available for you in the new app, and you do not need to make any changes.

What will happen with my Readly Gift card?
If you have already redeemed your gift card, it will be automatically transferred with your account. You will be able to continue enjoying Readly in the new app.
Gift card which has not yet been activated can be redeemed on the new Readly website, once the new Readly experience is ready.
